Mentoring

Be A Champion Mentor ProgramThe "Be A Champion" Mentor Program matches 4th-8th grade students with a caring adult who will serve as a child's mentor and companion.

The impact of this relationship with an adult committed to their well-being and the opportunity to build a connection has been shown to positively impact a child's educational experience and their future.

In addition, mentors routinely report that serving in this meaningful way enriches their lives as well.

Show me a successful individual and I’ll show you someone who had real positive influences in his or her life. I don’t care what you do for a living — if you do it well I’m sure there was someone cheering you on or showing the way. A mentor.

Mentor Commitment

When you become a mentor, you make a special commitment to building a relationship with your assigned mentee, and we are here to support you along this journey.

Mentors meet in-person with their assigned mentee one hour each week at the student's school building. You'll work with our Student Services team to find a time that works in your schedule.

Our goal is to match a mentor's interests with a child who would benefit from their time together. Many of our mentors engage their mentee in games, crafts, or other activities.

How to Become a Mentor

We are always looking for caring adults to be paired with students.  Here's how the process works:

  1. Potential mentors complete the Mentoring Interest Form on this page.

  2. Our Mentor Coordinator will review interest forms and search for a mentee / mentor match.

  3. Mentor Coordinator will contact mentor applicants with details on next steps, which will include a background check, attending a training session, and scheduling weekly mentoring sessions.

We look forward to meeting you soon!
