2019-2020 School Registration & Back-To-School Resource Days
The 2019-2020 school year begins on Tuesday, September 3, 2019. All students must register for the upcoming school year. Based on feedback from families, we have made some significant changes to streamline the registration process. Register Online, Photos Taken During School Day
- School photos will be taken during the school year rather than at a district-wide event
- Registration can be completed entirely online via the Online Annual Update starting August 9
- Attending the in-person registration event (Back-to-School Resource Days, August 15 & 20) is optional
- Teacher assignments will be available online via the Infinite Campus Portal on Friday, August 9; you will also be able to get teacher assignments during Back-to-School Resource Days
Photo Days by School
Online Annual Update Begins August 9, 2019
On August 9, families will receive an email invitation from the Oregon School District to complete the Online Annual Update (instructions will be provided). During this annual update you will be asked to:
- Verify and/or update your contact information
- Update your child's health information
- Review and/or update your child's photo release permissions
Completing this annual update requires you to have an Infinite Campus (IC) Portal account. IC is a secure electronic system that provides access to your child’s student ID number, attendance records, grades, food account balances, contact preferences, and more.
If you already have an account you do not need to create a new one. If you need help creating an account, please email portal@OregonSD.org or contact Jennifer Hansen at 835-4033.
Once you have completed the Annual Update your child will be registered for the 2019-2020 school year. If you do not have access to a computer or need assistance, you are welcome to attend Back-to-School Resource Days or contact Jennifer Hansen at 835-4033 for assistance.
Back-to-School Resource Days: August 15 & 20 (Optional)
Back-to-School Resource Days is an optional event available to all families who would like assistance with completing the Online Registration Annual Update and/or has questions about school in the Oregon School District and its resources.
This optional event will be held at Oregon High School (456 N. Perry Parkway) on the following dates:
- August 15 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM
- August 20 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM
OSD staff will be available during Back-to-School Resources Days to help with any questions you may have about school registration. You can receive help with:
- Creating an Infinite Campus (IC) account
- Completing Online Registration Annual Update
- Questions about transportation / bus routes
- Accessing Oregon School District resources (e.g., free & reduced lunch, ESL services, health resources, fee waivers, computer resources)
- Accessing your schedule and/or classroom teacher (this will also be available online)
School Supply Lists
School supply lists for the 2019-2020 school year are available for each school in the OSD, with the exception of Oregon High School. Links are provided below for easy access. Prepackaged school supply boxes shipped directly to your home are available at SchoolToolBox.com (Oregon zip code = 53575; Brooklyn zip code = 53521). You are encouraged to order at least 10 days before supplies are needed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Below are some questions and answers regarding the 2019-2020 registration process.
What happened to District-Wide Registration?
If you have had children in the Oregon School District prior to this year, you will notice changes to the registration process this year. Back-to-School Resource Days takes the place of District-Wide Registration, which has been held in previous years. This new format will not include school photos; school photos will be taken during the school day. Back-to-School Resource days is not required.
Am I required to attend Back-to-School Resource Days?
No. Back-to-School Resource Days is an optional event. All families are welcome to attend, but it is possible to complete school registration in its entirety via the Online Annual Update.
What is the reason for the change?
The Oregon School District serves a wide variety of families with a variety of needs and preferences. We understand that some families enjoy registering in person, while others prefer to complete this task online. This option allows families to choose the option that works best for them, rather than requiring that all attend in person. We also noticed that the photo stations were very busy and often resulted in long wait times. We understand that many families have limited time to spend at an event. As a result, photos will be taken during the school year rather than at the registration event.
When will students get their school photos taken?
School photos for the 2019-2020 school year will be taken at individual school buildings after school starts. Below are photo and retake days for each school.
When will teacher assignments be shared?
Teacher assignments will be available online via the Infinite Campus (IC) Portal beginning Friday, August 9. You will receive an email in August notifying you when teacher assignments are available online. Teacher assignments will also be available at Back-to-School Resource Days.
When will school assignments be shared for incoming kindergarten students?
School assignments for incoming kindergarten students will be emailed to families late July / early August, prior to teacher assignments being available in the Infinite Campus Portal.
When will 2019-2020 transportation routes be available?
Transportation routes for the 2019-2020 school year will be available at OregonSD.org/bus beginning August 9. Bus routes will also be available during Back-to-School Resource Days.
Why would I attend Back-to-School Resource Days?
All families are welcome to attend Back-to-School Resource days; it is your choice whether to attend or not. OSD staff will be available at this event to answer questions about our schools and assist you with school registration. A variety of district resources will also be available (e.g., free & reduced lunch, ESL services, health resources, fee waivers, transportation information, computer resources).
If I choose to attend Back-to-School Resource Days, what should I bring?
Bringing the following items will help your time at Back-to-School Resource Days be the most efficient:
- Checkbook (if you wish to pay for fees or add money to a lunch account that day)
- Completed physical/vaccination forms (if not previously submitted)
- Any questions you have about the upcoming school year
