I’m Colleen Schell and I’ve been a counselor at Rome Corners since 2001. Before that I taught at Oregon High School for 15 years. It is amazing to me how quickly time flies. Many of the students I see at RCI today are children of students I knew as a teacher at OHS. I love working with this age group, facilitating groups, meeting with kids individually, consulting with parents and teaching classroom guidance. In my free time I like being physically active, spending time with my family, and gardening. Occasionally I read a book :)
Please let me know if you have concerns or questions about your child socially, emotionally or academically. I look forward to our partnership as we provide opportunities for our children’s’ continued success.

I have been a school counselor at RCI since 2019. I am so unbelievably excited to be part of the RCI family. It is already so apparent how welcoming and inclusive the Oregon community is, and I feel very lucky to be part of it! What I love most about this level is the genuine curiosity students have in their learning and the world around them. In my free time, I enjoy love spending time with my family and my golden retriever! If I'm not with them you can find me doing anything physically active and watching the Detroit Lions (I know, I know, I'm sorry Packer Fans!).
I am always here to advocate for all students. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your children throughout the school year.

I am the district’s Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Coach for PreK-6th grade. Before entering this role, I served as a special education teacher for over 20 years in diversified settings. The focus of the SEL Coach is increasing the internal capacity of OSD educators to meet the academic and social/emotional needs of our learners through: partnering with OSD educators in creating personalized, responsive classroom and school environments, as well as facilitating multiple types of professional learning opportunities in alignment with our instructional vision, data-determined needs, and OSD values.
