Portrait of a Graduate

  • On June 27, 2022 after nearly a year of planning and partnering with our school community, the School Board approved the Oregon School District Portrait of a Graduate. This effort is part of a strategic planning process to define the characteristics, attributes and skills we want our students to possess by the time they graduate from Oregon High School. Details about the goals and objectives of the project are summarized in this video and are part of a comprehensive strategic planning framework

A Community Process

  • The Oregon School District has a proud tradition of working together with the community to plan for the future. The Portrait of a Graduate effort is another example of this approach.  Below is a summary of the community sessions that informed this work.  We are so grateful for the input and feedback of our community.

  • In-Person Community Focus Groups: June 2021
On June 17, 2021 we held in-person community focus groups for all who wished to attend. Over 60 community members split into six simultaneously facilitated focus groups joined us to provide input that informed next steps.

Virtual Community Focus Group: July 2021
A virtual focus group was held in July for those unable to attend in person.

Planning for Today and Tomorrow Info Night: March 2022
On March 7 2022, members from the community came together to participate in an informational session to share the most up-to-date draft of the Portrait of a Graduate. Feedback from community focus groups, OSD staff and leadership team feedback was incorporated into this draft. Those unable to attend were offered the option to watch a video replay of the event, view the draft document, and share feedback via a survey form.
