Curriculum

  • The academic experience in the Oregon School District always starts with the whole child at the center. We want our learners to love learning. We strive to create an environment in which all learners are healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged. Creating a learning environment where learners feel valued and empowered while meeting and exceeding learning goals is at the heart of what we do. We also believe the term academics encompasses learning experiences in music, art, physical education, health and wellness, and world language as well as reading, writing, science, math, and social studies.

  • Literacy Grades K-6

The Oregon School District utilizes the Balanced Literacy Framework to guide literacy instruction in Grades K-6. This framework allows teachers to create an individualized learning plan to address needs of each student. Much of the Balanced Literacy Framework is based around Russian psychologist Lev Vygotsky’s work. The Balanced Literacy Framework consists of eight components that help learners move toward independence (see document for a review of each component).

  • Mathematics Grades K-5

Oregon School District teaches mathematics using the Bridges in Mathematics curriculum for students grades K-5. The curriculum focuses on developing a deep understanding of math concepts, proficiency with key skills, and problem-solving. We are pleased to share more details about the Bridges Math Curriculum

  • World Language Grades K-4

The Oregon School District is proud to offer Spanish instruction for elementary school students. We have compiled a collection of resources for students who would like more Spanish practice outside of the classroom. Enjoy!
