Exemption Request Process

  • The exemption process is now closed.

Any family who wishes to request that their student be placed at a school other than where they were assigned must submit an Exemption Request Form by Friday, May 15, 2020.  Forms may be submitted electronically or via mail. Completing an exemption form does not guarantee a change in placement.

About the Exemption Process

  • Why an Exemption Process?
In preparation for opening Forest Edge Elementary School (FES), the District assembled an Attendance Boundary Committee charged with creating a proposal for school attendance areas.  See OregonSD.org/boundaries for more details. One of the guiding principles identified by the Committee was to create “reasonable boundaries within a flexible system.” The exemption process is a way to maintain flexibility in the school placement as we grow.

    Who May Request Exemptions?
Any family who wishes to request that their student be placed at a school other than where they were assigned may complete the exemption process.

    What is the Exemption Timeline?
All exemption requests are due to the District Office (123 E. Grove St., Oregon) by Friday, May 15, 2020.  Families are expected to be notified with the exemption decision via email by the end of May. If you do not have an email address, please note that on your exemption form or contact Jennifer Hansen at 608-835-4033 to make alternate arrangements.
