Based on feedback from previous years, we are offering multiple different course schedules for the Technology Integration Project in 2009-2010. Each course will consist of a smaller, more homogenous set of participants. Please note that you must select one course schedule and stick with it. Class meetings are not mix-and-match.

Option 1: Year Long for Classroom Teachers (aka "Regular TIP")
This the the traditional course sequence. It is spaced over a full school year so that participants have time to learn, apply, reflect, refine, and re-apply what they learn. Class time is outside of regular work hours, and graduate credit from local universities is available for an additional cost.

Class times are 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm on the following Mondays:

  • September 14, 21
  • October 12, 19
  • December 7
  • January 11, 25
  • March 15
  • April 12, 19
  • Plus fourteen additional workshop or presentation hours for an optional third credit.

Option 2: August - December; geared for grades 6-12 (aka "Fall TIP")
This option has a two day "boot camp" in August to accelerate the content acquisition necessary to implement your learning in your classroom during the fall semester. Classes are held August - December, and all work must be completed prior to December 15. Class time is outside of regular work hours, and graduate credit from local universities is available for an additional cost.

Class times are 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm on the following dates, except where noted otherwise:

  • August 18, 8:00 am - 1:00 pm
  • August 20, 8:00 am - 1:00 pm
  • September 14, 21
  • October 12, 19
  • December 7
  • Plus fourteen addition workshop or presentation hours for an optional third credit.

Option 3: Technology Tailored 4 Me (Tech integration for specialized teachers and hesitant learners)
This cohort is designed for educators who don't fit the category of "regular" classroom teachers, as well as teachers who characterize themselves as "hesitant" to use technology. Special effort will be taken to support participants as they develop a comfort level using technology in ways that are uniquely beneficial to their professional responsibilities. Course meetings will be spaced over the full school year so that participants have time to learn, apply, reflect, refine, and re-apply what they learn.

Class times are 4:00 - 6:30 pm on the following Thursdays:

  • September 17, 24
  • October 15, 22
  • December 10
  • January 14, 28
  • March 18
  • April 8, 15
  • Plus fourteen addition workshop or presentation hours for an optional third credit.

TIP 2: "The Sequel," for advanced practitioners

This cohort is for those who have already successfully completed the regular TIP and wish to share their knowledge by providing support and leadership in their school.

Participants are expected to create a portfolio demonstration master of the NETS, publish examples of their teaching methods on the web (both text and video), present and local and regional Ed Tech conferences, serve as resources for other teachers, and be leaders in their schools regarding student-centric, technology-facilitated instruction.

Participants will create a Personal Learning Network (PLN) consisting of educators within the cohort and from elsewhere. Meetings will be spaced over the full school year so that participants have time to learn, apply, reflect, refine, and re-apply what they learn.

Class times are 4:00 - 6:30 pm on the following Tuesdays:

  • September 15, 22
  • October 13, 20
  • December 8
  • January 12, 26
  • March 16
  • April 14, 20
  • Plus fourteen additional workshop or presentation hours for an optional third credit.
