Boys’ Golf
I. There shall be two levels of competition in the conference
A. The Dual meet Varsity competition shall consist of a five (5) player team.
B. The Dual meet Junior Varsity competition shall consist of a five (5) player team.
II. Schedules
A. Single round robin dual meet varsity schedule shall be established and shall follow the master scheduling plan of the constitution. The dates of matches are to be scheduled at the spring coaches meeting.
B. The Junior Varsity dual meet schedules shall be the same as the Varsity.
C. J.V. players should be mostly underclassmen.
D. Conference matches are not to include non-conference opponents.
E. The host school is responsible for paying green fees for the visiting school in dual matches.
F. Beginning in 2001-02, the Badger North and Badger South will have separate of divisional championships based on round robin dual meet competition and the divisional conference tournament. The golf coaches are responsible to make the schedule.
III. Starting Times
A. Matches during the week will begin depending on course availability.
IV. Procedure for postponement
A. All rained out or postponed matches shall be played or replayed at the earliest possible time.
B. Postponement notification shall be given by 1:00 p.m. the day of the scheduled match.
C. If players are unable to complete 9 holes in dual meets due to rain, darkness, etc., the match would be rescheduled for Varsity only.
A. Dual Matches
1. Dual matches are 9 holes (play here can be stopped at the judgment of coaches). All play is stroke play!
2. If course conditions warrant and coaches agree, summer rules shall apply otherwise, winter rules shall be used for dual competition matches.
3. The W.I.A.A. and U.S.G.A. rules shall apply to all matches.
4. The dual meet conference champion shall be determined by the won and lost record; 1 point per win and 1/2 point for tie. The points for the conference meet will be 7 for the 1st on down to 1. Points are added together toward championship.
5. Players must carry clubs and walk!
6. Players must wear golf or rubber soled shoes! (Dress code per W.I.A.A. regulations)
7. All players are lead up from number one to ten.
8. The hosting coach, or course professional will instruct the players about the course rules, out of bounds, casual water, etc.
9. Players are given score cards; they will deep both their own score and their opponents. The record of their opponent's score is the official.
10. At the end of the match add up both their own score and their opponents. If they agree they exchange cards and sign them. The cards are then turned into the coaches. The coaches check the addition of the scores and record them. There is no penalty if the scores are added wrong. However, disqualification can happen if the player signed a card with an incorrect score recorded.
11. Players tee off in foursomes with number one and two players first, followed by the three and four players, etc. Depending on the availability of the course players may be "shot gunned", starting at different holes, which shortens the match time.
12. Coaches may, at any time, be asked to help make a ruling if questions arise during the round by any competing players.
13. After all scores are recorded, the high score is thrown out for the Varsity and Junior Varsity. The four remaining scores are added for each and the lowest stroke total wins the match.
B. Triangular
1. Triangulars run the same as duels except groups usually play in threesomes. All number ones, all numbers twos, etc.
2. The host school competes against both visiting schools. The visiting schools do not compete against each other.
C. Conference Meet
1. Conference meet shall consist
of 18 holes. Foursomes are set up by coaches at a meeting on Wednesday preceding the meet. The conference meet will be held at The Springs Golf Course. (6/09/2004)
2. Five (5) players form each school shall constitute a team with the four (4) lowest scores counting toward team points.
3. The W.I.A.A. and U.S.G.A. rules shall apply to all matches.
4. The Conference meet shall follow the same procedure in regard to summer or winter rules as set up for state series play.

5. The boys Badger Conference Meet will be held on Wednesday morning and will use the Friday of the same week as the rain date. (6/09/2004)

VI. Awards
A. Trophy to Conference Champion(s).
B. Medal to individual champion(s)
C. All-Conference selection will have 7 players in each division. The method is based on meet scores minus the course rating. Five out of six meet scores count and the conference tournament score counts. Folders and certificates will be given to All-Conference selections.
VII. Meetings
A. Conference coaches meeting on Wednesday preceding Conference meet.
B. As prescribed by the W.I.A.A.
