A single round robin dual meet schedule shall be established.

B.     Junior Varsity

The junior Varsity dual meet schedule shall be the same as the Varsity and matches shall precede the Varsity meet.

D.  Beginning in 2006-07, Badger North will have six schools with wrestling and Badger South will have six  schools. (5/11/05) Mt. Horeb will move from the North Division to the South Division. In 2008 Mt. Horeb will return to the Badger North with Fort Atkinson and Milton joining the Badger South (3/14/07). There will be separate team divisional champions. Based on combined:  

Dual points-1 point per division win. No ties: Refer to (NF/WIAA) wrestling rules to break team ties. (3/08/06) Madison Edgewood will be joined by Monona Grove to form a wrestling co-op starting in the 2007/2008 season. (3/14/07) 

Tournament points-Divisional ranking from high to low.

Badger North: 7. 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

Badger South:  6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

The commissioner will schedule 1 crossover date to provide non-conference matches between Badger North and Badger South. Starting in the 20062007 season the number of scheduled crossover matches will be reduced to a maximum of two matches.  (3/10/2004) Starting in the 2009/2010 season the commissioner will no longer schedule crossover matches. III. Starting times for Dual meets

A.     Weigh in - 5:30

B.     Junior Varsity at 6:15   (3/10/2004)

Note: Start time can be changed if mutually agreed too. 

C.     Varsity at 7:30

D.     Lineups (including J.V. wrestlers) should be exchanged at least one day before the scheduled match.  If a fax is not available to either coach, the exchange  should be made by  telephone or e-mail directly to head coach.

E. Use track wrestling to keep current line-ups two days prior to duals. (3/14/07)

IV. Contest  procedure

C.   Home team is responsible for calling results to the  media.  

V.  Officials

A. Varsity officials for conference contests are hired by the Assistant  Commissioner. (1/14/2004)

B. Junior Varsity officials are hired by the host school who will administer weigh-ins.

C. Badger Conference Meets – The Assistant Commissioner will hire the officials for both days and the seeding official. (1/14/2004)

VI. Awards

A.  A  trophy shall be awarded the Conference champion(s).

B.  Medals will be awarded to the top 4 place winners in each weight class at the conference meet.

VII.  Badger Conference Meet – Two - Day meet. The host school will use four mats and two gyms. The school hosting the tournament will decide how wrestling is to be split up between gyms. On Saturday, the first round of the consolation Bracket will be wrestled in the second gym. After that ALL wrestling will take place in the Main gym (3/09/05) unless main gym can hold four mats. A.  The Badger Conference Meet will have the following:

1. A seeding meeting will be held on Wednesday night (7:00 P.M.) the week of the conference meet at Waunakee High School. (3/14/07)

2. Individual changes for conference meet must be done prior to 6:00 P.M. Wednesday meeting. Coaches Locked out at 6:01 p.m. No changes at seeding meeting. They will not be open to the public or coaches until after the seeding meeting. 

3.  Wrestling seeding criteria:

According to and when using Trackwrestiling:

A. Wrestler has had a minimum number of 15 matches toward his season record (3/11/2009)

B. Season record wins percentage.

C. Season Record wins.                                    

D. Place at previous year’s tournament.

E. Emphasis on separating the top 4 wrestlers.

F. Seed all the way down in each bracket.

G. If an athlete fails to make weight or is scratched after the seeding meeting or before Friday nights wrestling the bracket will be reseeded (3/14/07). Wrestling     scratching will be entered as a forfeit. Team receiving forfeit will receive 2 pts. For the win and 2 pts. for advancement. (3/12/2008) 

4. Individual wrestler changes made after the Wednesday night seeding meeting will be substitutions only. There will be no moving wrestlers to other

brackets. When substitutes are added to a bracket, the  bracket will be re-seeded prior to wrestling Friday night.

5.  Each weight class will  have a 16 - wrestler bracket.

6.  Double  elimination with full wrestle-backs to 7th  place.     

7. Consolation Bracket periods will wrestle a 1-2-2 minutes.     

8. A.  Championship and 3rd place matches will be wrestled following the 5th and 7th place matches.

B. Conference Tournament Scoring-Team and Advancement, in accordance with trackwrestling: 

1. The bracket used is the 16 man-WB-3rd-8th place.

2. Advancement point system: 2-points for advancement on the winners side 1-point advancement on the consolation side. No advancement points in the placing round (1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th)

C.   Weight-ins will be at 5:00 PM on Friday with wrestling to start at 6:00  PM. Saturday weigh-ins will be at 9:00 AM with wrestling to start at 10:00 AM.  There is a one-pound allowance for this second day.
