GYMNASTICS

 

 

I.       Schedule

A.  The conference commissioner will schedule round robin dual meets.  Host school has the option to start the meet at 6:30 or 7:00 P.M. (4/14/04) A dual meet win will count one point toward the Badger Conference championship. A tie will be worth ½ point. Dual meet points will be added to the team place in the conference tournament. First place will be worth 6 points, 2nd – 5 pts., 3rd – 4 pts., 4th – 3 pts., 5th – 2 pts., and 6th – 1 pt. (4/14/04)

B.  For a dual meet, the following time schedule will be used: 7:00 p.m.

     5:45 – Gym opens

     5:45-6:00 – Stretching and bar settings.

     6:00-6:25 – First round of timed warm-ups (warm-up 2 events)

     6:25-6:50 – Second round of timed warm-ups (warm-up 2 events)

     6:55 – March in

     7:00 – Competition starts

    

     A 6:30 start time may be used  at the discretion of the host school. If a 6:30 start time the following time schedule will be used:

     5:15 Gym opens

     5:15 – 5:30 Stretching and bar settings.

     5:30 – 5:55 First round of timed warm-ups (warm-up 2 events).

     5:55 – 6:20 pm Second round of timed (warm-up 2 events).

     6:25 March in.

     6:30 pm – Competitions starts.

    

II.      Officials

A.  Officials are to be hired by the host school.

 

III.     Conference Meet

A.   The Badger Conference meet finish will be added to number of dual meet points to determine the conference championship. (4/14/04)

* To host the conference meet it is mandatory to provide a spring floor for floor exercise competition. (4/13/05)

            C. Medals are given to the top three finishers in each individual event and all-around. Folders and certificates will be given to All-Conference selections.

D. Conference Meet Format: 8:30 AM – Gym opens, 9:00 - coaches meeting, 9:15 – judges meeting, 9:50 – opening ceremonies, 10:00 – start      competition, JV & Varsity competition, 10 judges – judging meet referee, 15-minute event warm-up, alternate JV/Var, on beam and floor, Bars, and vault

         - JV 1st  – Varsity 2nd. (4/06/2008)

         E.  Conference Meet Format: Host schools are required to provide Elite Bars to host the conference meet. (4/09/2008)

IV.     All- Conference

A.  There will be five All-Conference gymnasts (one) per event and all-round (floor, vault, beam bars, all-around.) A second all-conference team will also be selected based on the second leading scores in each event and all – around.

A.   Take the best 6 varsity scores (on whichever event you are nominating the gymnast) and average the scores.

B.    First Team all – conference will receive a medal, folder, and a certificate. Second Team all – conference will receive a folder and a certificate. Third, fourth and fifth places in each event of the five events will be awarded honorable mention. (3/14/2007)

C.    A gymnast is eligible to receive All-Conference honors in any or all events plus the all-around. (4/13/05) 

D.   All – Conference nomination forms are to be sent to the commissioner for tabulation and determination of the five all -conference winners. A school can nominate more than one girl per event. (3/10/2004)

G. All ties will stand and awarded accordingly.
