A. Varsity
1. Badger North and Badger South will have division champions. Each school will play seven conference games-six in their division and one crossover game that will (not) count in their division record. (1/14/2004) Starting in 2008 the commissioner will schedule intra conference games for week 1 and 2 of the season. These games will be viewed as non-conference games. (3/08/06) Game time for varsity contests is 7:00 PM. Freshman and JV games will be scheduled together with the Freshman game at 5:00 PM and the JV game 10 minutes after Freshman is completed.
2. The blocks of the schedule shall be the same for two consecutive years with the home sites reversed during the second year.
3. The schedule shall be set up for a minimum of two years.
4. The schedule will be set up with the final week of conference games played on Wednesday, prior to the start of the WIAA playoff game.
B. Junior Varsity
1. The schedule will follow the conference Varsity
schedule with the Junior Varsity game being played on the opposite site on
Thursday night. (Exception-When Varsity
plays on Wednesday, J.V. and freshmen play on Tuesday (2/11/04)
2. The J.V. game will start 10 minutes after the Freshmen game has been completed. J.V. will warm-up on another field while the Freshmen are playing.
3. J.V. teams will break ties as determined by WIAA rules.
4. JV will play 11 minute quarters plus a 3 minute warm-up.
5. Juniors may play with the J.V. team if the game is in jeopardy of being cancelled.
6. J.V.s’ dress at home-can shower at site. Notify schools.
C. Freshmen
1. The schedule will follow the Varsity schedule
with the exception of the first game, which will be dropped because of the
W.I.A.A. game limit. A scrimmage can be arranged with the first school on the varsity
schedule. (7/23/2009)
2. Games will be played on Thursday nights on the opposite sight of the Varsity game. (When Varsity games are played on Wednesday, Freshmen games will be played on Tuesday (2/11/04) Games will start at 5:00, unless there is not a Junior Varsity game the game, than the game would then start at 6:00 PM.
3. Ten minute quarters will be played for freshman games.
4. Freshmen dress at home-can shower at site (Notify host school).
5. Ties will not be played off.
6. Half time is 10 minutes plus a 3 - minute warm-up.
7. The home team will provide the game balls for JV and freshmen games. (2/13/2008)
II. Game Management
A. Varsity
1. Every effort shall be made to play all conference Varsity games on Friday nights with the exception of the last game of the season.
2. The color of the jerseys shall be dark for the home team and white for the visiting team.
3. Field agenda
a. 60:00 Set field clock at 60 minutes and turn on. Start clock at 5:57.
b. 25:00 Coin toss
c. 15:00 Bands may come on field. They may occupy 20 yard line to 20 yard line.
d. 5:00 Player introductions (optional) and sportsmanship announcement.
e. 0:00 National Anthem followed by Kick-off
4. The home team shall call the media to report Varsity results.
5. Schools are to send out program rosters for Varsity, J.V. and Freshmen teams. Roster sheet should include number, name, position, year, height, weight, and be listed in numerical order.
6. The game balls supplied be the home team must be a Wilson F1205 football. (Minimum of 3 balls)
7. If a school need the extra 5 minutes at halftime of the homecoming game they are to notify the opposing team and the officiating team chief.
8. The running clock, as outlined by the W.I.A.A. regarding the 35 point lead, will be enforced at all levels of competition.
III. Starting Times
A. Varsity 7:00 p.m.
B. Junior Varsity 10 minutes after the Freshmen game
B. Freshmen 5:00 p.m. unless no J.V.s’, then 6:00 p.m.
V. Tie Breaking Procedure
Championships
A. The conference champion shall be the team with the highest winning percentage based on a full conference schedule.
B. Tie breaking procedure: Criteria shall be considered in the order they are listed. If a step resolves the situation, do not go on to the next step. If any criteria in step 3 can send it back to steps 1 or 2, that shall always be done, so that head to head competition is the final determinant.
1. Head-to-head competition between and all teams tied.
2. If teams still remained tied, selection would be determined by adding together the conference victories of the teams each team has defeated during the season.
3. If three or more teams are tied, the playoff ranking of the teams will be determined by the following criteria:
A. Eliminate the team or teams who were behind in score in the most quarters in the games between the teams who were tied.
B. Eliminate the team or teams who were behind in score in the most quarters in games against all conference opponents. (Teams must keep quarter scoring statistics for all conference games.)
C. If the previous steps do not resolve the tie, a coin tossing procedure will decide the playoff ranking.Here is an example of how the tie breaking procedure would work:

Step 3b – All lost to a 6-1 team.

VI. Officials
A. Varsity officials will be hired by the conference commissioner.
B. Junior Varsity and Freshmen officials will be hired by host school.
VII All Conference - Selection Method.
A. First Team All-Conference Selections receive medals, folders and certificates. Second Team receives folders and certificates.
VIII. Awards
A. The conference champion(s) shall be determined by won-lost record.
B. A trophy shall be awarded to the conference champion(s).
IX. Meetings
A. W.I.A.A. rules interpretation.
B. Conference coaches meeting.
X. Film Exchange
A. Coaches are to exchange tapes/DVD’s eight (8) days prior to each conference game. (2/08/06)
B. Badger Conference schools may not exchange films or tapes with schools outside the conference during the football play-offs or before.
