Committee/Program Description Volunteer Responsibilities
Book Fair

Proceeds from the sales benefit the library.  Held on Back to School Evening in the fall.

 

  • Process purchases
  • Help take down displays

 

Computer Lab

Flexible, classes last 30-40 minutes.  Training will be available.

 

  • Assist log on and open/save
  • Proofreading

Cooperative Kids

Planning committee to develop a learning community that promotes mutual respect, responsible behavior, and a safe environment.
  • Give Input from parent perspective
  • Meets 1-2 times per month from 3:05 - 4:00 p.m. (dates to be determined)
Library Flexible.  Training will be provided.
  • Shelving books
  • Reading to students
  • Helping with class preparation
Lunch Helpers Lunch period is from 10:50 - noon.
  • Assist the teachers and staff with supervising student activities.
Memory Book Annual picture book of teachers, staff and students.  Sponsored by the PTO.
  • Candid photography
  • Arrange photo collages
  • Cross check photos and names
Mentor Form a consistent one on one relationship. Meet weekly during lunch. Interview required.
  • Provide friendship
  • Share interests
  • Will be match with a child
On Call

Flexible availability; coordinated by PTO member.

  • Provide additional help as needed for various activities throughout the year
Picnic and Game Day An all school picnic with games. Held in the late spring over and extended lunch period.
  • Face painting
  • Assist with other games and activities
Picture Retake Help during August registration and/or picture make up day. Date to be determined . Sponsored by the PTO.
  • Check order forms
  • Give out student identification cards
Reading Plus Reading support program. Flexible availability. Training provided.
  • Work one on one with students for 15-20 minutes blocks of time
Recess Assist the teachers and staff with supervising student activities.
  • Indoor/Outdoor
  • Morning, Lunch, Afternoon recesses
Site Council School staff and community working with building goals and student achievement.
  • 6-8 meetings per year
  • 1-1.5 hour meetings
  • Dates to be determined
Teacher Projects Assist with the completion of teacher projects. This may be done in the school workroom or at home.
  • Various, ex: cutting, sewing
  • Great activity if you have younger children
