Why Middle School Student Services?

Middle school students are characterized by rapid physical growth, curiosity about their world and an emerging self-identity. Education during this time is an exciting, yet challenging time for students, their parents and teachers. As children pass through adolescence they express the need to explore a variety of emerging interests, and attempt to connect their learning in the classroom to its practical application in life and work.

School counselors and psychologists work with school staff, parents and the community to create a caring, supportive climate and atmosphere whereby young adolescents can achieve academic success and receive support and assistance with other life concerns.

* The Oregon School District does not discriminate against students on the basis of sex, race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, creed, pregnancy, marital or parental status, sexual orientation, or physical, mental, emotional or learning disability in its education programs or activities.
