Parking at OHS
Cars, Other Vehicles and Parking Lots
² School bus service is provided for all students who live outside a two mile radius of Oregon High School. Therefore, it is deemed a privilege, not a necessity, to drive to school.
² Juniors and seniors are able to purchase a parking permit to park in the designated student areas. Permits are $50 per year and pro-rated on a quarterly basis. Students will be reimbursed if they graduate early. Payment must be made before receiving a parking sticker. Sales are conducted on a first-come, first-served basis.
² Student vehicle parking is restricted to the student parking lot. There shall be no parking in fire lanes, delivery areas, yellow-lined areas, on the school lawns, or in handicapped areas without proper authorization.
² Speeds in excess of ten miles per hour and reckless driving are prohibited.
² The parking lot is off limits during school hours except for students authorized to leave campus. Student loitering in the parking lot, in the area adjacent to the south side of the field house, and in the vicinity of the athletic field press box, is prohibited during the school day.
Consequences for Cars, Other Vehicles, and Parking Lots
² Students who drive recklessly on school property will be restricted from parking in the school lot and could receive a fine from the Oregon Police Department.
² Students parking in designated student parking without a parking permit or in other unauthorized parking areas will receive a fine from the Oregon School District. After being fined twice, a parent/guardian will be notified. The car will be towed at owner’s expense for future violations during the remainder of the school year.
² There will be a late fee of $5.00 added to each ticket that is not paid within five (5) school days of the student receiving the fine.
