OHS Collective Commitments

The students of Oregon High School will:

v    Accept responsibility for our education, decisions and actions

v    Influence other students to be involved and successful

v    Respect cultural diversity, individuality and the rights of others

v    Understand our individual learning style and needs

v    Establish and work toward personal goals

v    Ensure that the school is safe, healthy, and clean

v    Maintain a balance between academics, co-curricular activities, and community projects while continually giving our best effort

v    Be prepared for learning

v    Make the most of the guidance provided by our teachers

 

The teachers of Oregon High School will:

v    Collaborate by sharing innovative ideas with colleagues on a continuing basis

v    Integrate curricula by seeking real-world applications of classroom activities

v    Construct activities that enable students to exhibit their knowledge

v    Utilize authentic assessments by applying a variety of opportunities for students to demonstrate what they have learned

v    Foster caring, respectful relationships by modeling positive attitudes and connections among staff, students, and community

 

The administration of Oregon High School will:

v    Facilitate the development, articulation, implementation, and stewardship of our shared mission, vision, and commitments throughout the school community

v    Promote and support curricular and co-curricular activities that off ALL students challenging and essential academic outcomes and social and personal knowledge that is integrated in a manner which allows students to make connections to real life

v    Expect and promote varied instructional strategies that effectively promote learning for ALL students

v    Promote high academic and behavioral expectations for ALL students while implementing school wide improvements and opportunities for individual students who do not initially meet these expectations

v    Facilitate and expect ongoing collaborative interactions between staff members that focus on student learning

v    Seek to promote the leadership capabilities of students, staff, and community members

v    Streamline the management of our school’s operations, resources, and finances to provide a safe, healthy, and well-organized environment whose primary focus is student learning

v    Develop understandings about and improve connections with families and community members

v    Work to develop and maintain respectful, cooperative, and caring relationships with others
