Dear Parents/ Guardians

Public Health has notified all school districts that there are no H1N1 vaccines available and anticipate not resuming School vaccination clinics until December if the H1N1 vaccine is available.

Public Health and Health Professionals have decided to use the available vaccine to vaccinate those individuals most at risk.  If you child falls into one of the high risk categories and you would like your child vaccinated before December,  Please contact your Health Care Provider to receive the vaccine.  The target group includes:

  • Pregnant Women
  • Persons who live with or provide care for infants age 6 months or younger (example; parents, siblings, day care providers)
  • Health Care and emergency medical services personnel who have direct contact with patients or infectious material
  • Children age 6 months - 4 years
  • Children and adolescents age 5-18 years who have chronic medical conditions that put them at high risk for influenza-related complications.      These conditions include chronic pulmonary (including asthma), cardiovascular (except hypertension), renal, hepatic, cognitive, neurologic/neuromuscular, hematological or metabolic disorders (including diabetes mellitus), immunosuppression (including immunosuppression caused by medications or by human immunodeficiency virus); or receiving long-term aspirin therapy.  (Your Health Care Provider can help you determine if your child is at high risk.)
