Hello! Welcome to the 2009-2010 school year!
Kim Heneman
My name is Kim Heneman. I will be one of this classrooms teachers. I will be teaching reading, writing and word study (spelling) this year. Every morning I will be here until it is time for lunch. After lunch, I will be working with all the different classrooms in the school in the area of literacy.
A little more about me.....
I grew up in Madison and always loved it here. However, I decided to go to Indiana University for college. After I graduated, I decided to move out to Vail, Colorado to teach (and ski) for awhile. I taught third grade and coached soccer at the high school for several years before I decided to move back to my hometown in 2001. I was hired at Brooklyn and have been here ever since. At Brooklyn, I have taught both third and fourth grade. I have also been a girls soccer coach at the high school for several years. My spring is very busy with coaching, but I love working with older kids and always have a lot of fun. In 2006 I finished my Masters in Education and am currently working on getting my reading licence. I still love teaching after thirteen years. Some of my other interests include soccer, skiing, snowboarding, kayaking, boating, hiking and traveling. One of my favorite places remains northern Wisconsin where I can enjoy all of these fun activities.
Jessica Suter
My name is Jessica Suter. I will be another classroom teacher for our fourth graders. I will be here every afternoon to teach math, science and social studies.
A little more about me....
I was born in Madison and lived in Waunakee for the majority of my childhood. After high school, I attended the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point. I earned my degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Mathematics. While attending Stevens Point I also had the opportunity to play four years of Division III hockey. This year will be my first year teaching and I am really excited to share my love of learning with my students. In addition to teaching I also enjoy coaching, spending time on the water, scrap booking, being with my family, and reading. My favorite author is Jodi Picoult.
